Fragment is a miniature composition written for Sledge Duo through a call for miniatures. In this work they play restringed guitar and banjo, but opens up for performing on anything they can get their hands on.

In this work there are 2 interconnected musical ideas; all of the guitar strings are in the same pitch, and the whole piece is performed on bottlenecks with different angles. This way microtonal clusters expands and contracts. Another aspect I enjoyed working with while creating the piece, was delving into and expanding on some stereotypical notions associated with the instruments, applying terms such as «hillbillesque», as well as going into the extreme territory which I associate with Sledge Duo.
